Mason took a marker and drew on a moustache because he wanted one.
Melina’s Bus she earned at school.
The Veteran’s brick wall at Wilson School honoring all Veterans. She is pointing to Toby Nygaard’s Brick!
Heading out, not even out of the city yet. And he hits a squirrel. Well a squirrel hit him. The squirrel must have shook it off because he wasn’t there when we looked back.
Jamie surprised me by pulling out an old mix tape I made him when we first started dating. Here’s where we all say “Awwwwww”.
Much needed pit stop in Indiana.
Beautiful sunset, still in Indiana.

Kentucky. We finally made it. It was after 7pm, and Jamie wouldn’t pull over for pictures. So here’s lovely Kentucky! ![]()
Bright and early, and our actual anniversary (10/26) we get up in seek of good coffee.
No coffee, but apparently Cage Fights are still popular in Kentucky.
No coffee. Find the bluffs of Kentucky heading towards Fort Knox.
Hard to read, but that sign says “Miss Piggy’s Café Round the Next Bend.” Finally coffee looks promising.
Didn’t get a picture of Miss Piggy’s Café because Jamie drove so fast by it…he was scared for his life because it looked very shady. He said Coffee may be served in the front of the store, but there were bodies buried in the back. Most of my pictures are taken from inside the car
, he had an excuse as to why we couldn’t stop. Blah blah blah. ![]()
Made it to Fort Knox. Kim – “they might have tours, lets go check it out. My dad always finds a way to get in, let’s go check it out.” Sign on the door “NO TOURISM”. (Well that didn’t work!) “Get back in the car, and go…go…go!” We get back in the car and head to the Patton Museum. Jamie – “Well thanks a lot now we are on some TERROISM watch list because you had to drive us onto a secured Army base.” ![]()
Continuing our drive to Nashville, we see DINOSAUR WORLD. Come on we had to stop!
Then we stop at the Diamond Caves. What an amazing site! We went 80 ft underground, into this amazing cave. What a history too. A slave found it walking the field, put his hand in a hole and felt cold. They start excavating the next day.
Finally, NASHVILLE!
Our anniversary dinner was on the General Jackson showboat, which was on the Cumberland River and went to the city and back. Wonderful dinner & drinks, met people from Canada, Ohio and New York, and an amazing show!
Day 3: Jack Daniel’s Distillery, Arrington Vineyard, and the Wildhorse Saloon

Grand Ole Opry Planking (We were bored, we had an hour wait before our tour!)
Jamie and I got to stand right on stage on the famous circle! We even sang on stage, well it was happy birthday but still…we can say we sang on stage!
We saw Mark Wills and Diamond Rio that night.
See that metal bar under the pictures? That’s how high the water rose last May (2010) when the Cumberland river flooded the Opry. It took them 4 months to clean and renovate it.
And for Rachel…me and the Good ol’boys!
Day 5: Up EARLY, to haul back to WISCONSIN TO KISS THOSE KIDS WE’VE BEEN MISSING!
